About joosth

The Dutch designer Joost Heetman can be found behind the name JOOSTH. After his studies at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, he works in France for years. His career begins with Endt Fulton & Partners in Paris, where he works on exhibitions for Centre Pompidou and Musée de la Villette amongst others.

Later, Heetman collaborates with Anne Liberati. Together they design numerous interiors and furniture collections, like ‘Jour & Nuits’, ‘Pom-Pom Girls’ and ‘Dans les coulisses de la Temperance’ from the collection of Chateau Beychevelle.  Musée d’Art Décorative purchases ‘Pin-up’ from the collection Pom-Pom Girls, as a particular example of furniture design in France in the nineties. Heetman and Liberati work in Paris and New York.  La foundation Chateau Beychevelle selects them for ‘Le Grand Prix de Beychevelle’ which takes them as far as Japan.

In 1991, Heetman incorporates his Dutch background in the design of the ‘Tuliplu’ an umbrella in the shape of a tulip. Large quantities are still being shipped all over the world and the ‘Tuliplu’ is gradually becoming an evergreen in the promotional market.

Over JoostH

In addition to product development, Heetman also designs interiors for private as well as corporate clients. Within a large design plan, he incorporates various striking sub designs that together provides a unique experience and charisma. Heetman’s interiors have a heart and soul and convey a story.

Recently, a special light object has been added to his collection: ‘Glacier’, a chandelier made of crystalline material. When the lamp is on, broken light emerges from the undulating transparent components that decorate the space it is situated in.
